Four-Hour Festival Showcases Ten Songwriters, Benefits Play it Forward St. Louis

Local songwriters are organizing the 2nd Annual St. Louis Songwriters Play it Forward, a music festival featuring 10 songwriters, set for Saturday, September 21, starting at 3 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

Hosted by Babes Tavern and Garden in Lindenwood Park, South St. Louis (3215 Ivanhoe Ave, St. Louis, MO 63139), the festival will take place in the lot across from this iconic neighborhood spot. Additional local businesses in the Ivanhoe Business District, including Killer Vintage Guitars, Vinnie’s, and Bubbas Deli, are supporting the event.

The festival aims to spotlight local songwriters while benefiting Play it Forward St. Louis, a nonprofit dedicated to ensuring every child in St. Louis has the opportunity to discover their musical talents.

Attendees are encouraged to bring gently used instruments to donate to Play it Forward. Monetary donations can also be made at the concert or online via the event website.

Festival organizer and local songwriter Greg Barrett, said, “This festival provides a platform for songwriters to share their music and supports Play it Forward, creating a meaningful community event.”.
